Services may consist of a program of conditioning, which includes an undetermined number of private sessions, depending upon an individual's identified objectives and progress. I will endeavor to accomplish the objective(s) of the client's session(s) to the best of my ability. While hypnosis and other provided services/products may be an effective technique for many purposes, the effectiveness may vary from individual to individual, and no specific results nor progress can be promised or guaranteed.
For example, hypnosis works with the power of the subconscious mind to change beliefs, behaviors, and habits. The subconscious mind is considered to be the source or root of many of our emotions, attitudes, and motivations. Hypnosis is believed to be a powerful tool for accessing the subconscious mind & creating improvements within our lives.
The feelings and experiences in the hypnotic state can vary from individual to individual. Many remain completely aware of everything that is happening within the session, while in hypnosis. Some individuals experience a sense of hyper-awareness, where sensations are both enriched and vivid in perception. The ability to visualize or imagine is often enhanced. A feeling of deep relaxation is common and some people describe the hypnotic state as an escape from physical tension & emotional stress, while remaining completely aware and alert during the session.
The use of hypnosis could elicit memories of past events which may or may not be literally true. It is possible that events under hypnosis will be distorted and misconstrued. Memories or images evoked under hypnosis are not necessarily accurate and may be a construction or a composite of memories. Without collaborating information, it is not possible to determine whether a specific memory is true or false, even if it seems true to the client.
While it is common, professional practice to keep hypnosis session information secure and strictly confidential, the vocational/avocational content is not subject to the psychotherapist-patient privilege within a court of law.
